And now, the main event of the evening.
Mercedes Vargas.
Well, time is short Mercedes. We're rapidly approaching the time where you have to put up, or shut up. This is it Mercedes. You finally get your one on one match for the CPW Siren's title. And to be honest, I'm happy for you. Really, I am. Part of it, is because I try to be a pleasant person most of the time. But a lot of it has to do with the fact that, now, you will have no more excuses. No more telling the world that the odds are always stacked against you. There will be no more conspiracies, no more plots. You won your shot at this title, and now, you have to deliver. Nothing is stopping you from taking this title for your own besides, well me.
But you already knew that.
See, you have been playing games for the past few weeks, and I must admit you're pretty good at them. But, you actually lose a few points because the truth is, your mouth writes a lot of checks you have yet to cash. Yet, the games continue. Acting as if you've got this match in the bag. Well, the truth is, you don't. You, Mercedes Vargas, will always end up being the person who said so much, and did so little. What exactly do you have to show for your efforts? Where have you won gold? Where have you been a champion? Oh yes, NCW. But not a singles champion, a tag champion. Yes, I can do research just like you. Yeap, you're 2-0 at Pay-per-View events named "Picture Perfect" That's wonderful. I'm happy for you, but even more excited that I get to end that little streak before it becomes one.
And despite all the evidence that indicated you have no room to talk about anything, the trash talk continues, but the positive results do not. You are trying to take something at first that you didn't earn, second that you lost your grip on. You want this title so bad you can taste it. I get it, you're hungry, hungry to get this monkey off your back that you can't seem to shake. And you know, I want you to succeed in that goal.
It's just not going to be at my expense.
Because well, not only am I a fighting champion, and a darned good one at that, But because unlike you, I know how to talk, and I can back it up in the ring. The only thing you have done, that I have not, is pin Zelda Knite. Which, while impressive, is totally irelevant to this match. She's not involved. She's not in the match. But for whatever reason, you have to continue to mention her. Yet, I am supposed to have you undivided attention. So which is it Mercedes? Are you focused on this match or not? Do you want this title, or are you just a flash in the pan?
Jumping me from behind, and beating up Keira from behind, does not make you tough, or strong, or smart. As a matter of fact, Keira is actually pretty upset with you. She obviously wants to get some payback, but I told her that this match, is not about her. It's about me, and you, Mercedes. She's not going to interfere, she's leaving this to me. That way, when you lose, again, you can't blame her.
Just your own inability to get the job done when it counts. That's what you are known for. More than anything else. A woman who believes her own hype.
Nothing more.
[Keira and Roxi are driving around, looking for someplace to eat. ]
Keira - What about KFC?
Roxi - ....
Keira - What?
Roxi - Just, no.
Keira - What's wrong with KFC?
Roxi - It's a long story.
Keira - That bad? I know, they get my order sometimes.
Roxi - It's not that, it's...nevermind.
Keira - Okay...
[ They continue to drive around without much conversation until... ]
Keira - So, last Wednesday was good right.
Roxi - Sure. Why?
Keira - Well, I was hoping I did alright.
Roxi - Of course. You were excellent out there.
Keira - Really? You mean it?
Roxi - Yes. Why? Did you think I was upset with you?
Keira - No, it's just, I just want to make you happy.
Roxi - You do. I mean, it's great.
Keira - You just never seem happy with me.
Roxi - Keira, when I'm mad at you, you'll know.
Keira - Oh.
[ Roxi's wrist communicator goes off. ]
Roxi - I'm here.
Vision - Rox, I'm afraid your services are required at the pier, big shipment coming in.
Roxi - Right. I'll be there shortly.
[ Roxi turns to Keira, who has a hopeful look on her face. ]
Roxi - .... No.
Keira - Awww...why?
Roxi - I told you, This is my job.
Keira - But I have costumes ready and everything. I won't get in the way.
Roxi - It's not going to happen Keira. Try to find us a nice place to eat, I'll be back before you know it.
Keira - That's what you said last time. I had to come drive you to the hospital.
Roxi - It's fine, you worry too much.
Keira - You make me worry all the time. You're trying to do too much.
Roxi - It's my job Keira.
Keira - Then let me help you.
Roxi - You do more than enough. Now, I need you to find someplace for us to eat.
Keira - You are not being fair.
Roxi - Listen Keira, I can't spend all this time arguing with you about this. I have work to do. This is my life. You are a part of that. I can't risk you getting hurt. We've been over this.
Keira - ... This isn't over.
Roxi - Wish me luck.
[ Roxi leans over and kisses Keira on the forehead before exiting the car, and getting her spare equipment out of the trunk. Keira, with a huff, speeds off.. ]
Normally, I try to be nice to everybody. But you Mercedes, you make it very difficult to even tolerate a person that acts the way you do. You are a cheat, and a whiner, and someone who sees things that aren't there.
And they say I have some mental problems sometimes.
But I try very hard to promote peace and generally good things, and you see that as a negative. That's fine, you are entitled to your opinion. But you know something Mercedes? You are pushing something that you shouldn't push. You are trying to get me angry or upset by doing what your doing, and it is annoying, but it's not the worst thing someone has ever done to me, or even tried for that matter.
Because I am a nice person, I let this kind of stuff roll off my back. But, if you want to really go there Mercedes, we can go there. I just need to warn YOU, you are not going to like where this will go. No, pushing me in the wrong thing to do, because you know what, I can hurt people, I can be a negative person and I can do the things that you do. It's easy to stoop to your level. People do it all the time, because they don't like to put in the effort, or the time, or the attitude to really earn something and make a real impact. That is easy. Anyone can take a shortcut, or pull a fast one on somebody. I could very easily do that. I could become you, without much effort.
I could cheap shot people, kick them when their down, pick the bones of someone else's hard work, yes that's easy. Heck, if I was someone like you, I could simply walk to that ring on Sunday Night, and clock you with this title, and call it a night. And rob you of any chance of a re-match. And leave you, sitting there, cursing my name, and calling me a coward.
I could simply walk to that ring, and then as soon as the bell ring, walk away, and get counted out, again, you wouldn't be the champion.
I could beat you, then continue to beat you until you lay a quivering mass of flesh on the canvas, maybe I tie you up and beat on your helpless body.
But that's something that you would do Mercedes. That's not me.
I am above that. And it's the reason, the very reason why I will walk into Dallas the champion, and walk out of Dallas the champion. Because the young female fans of pro wrestling, the fans of CPW deserve to have a champion they can look up to. A champion who fights for them, and not for greedy, selfish reasons. I am standing for something. To be a symbol. To be a champion.
Because people like you, don't know what champions are.
Champions aren't made in gyms or behind microphones. Champions are made some something deep inside of them They have the skill and the will, but the will outweighs the skill
That's what I am. I am here to answer yet another challenge. I am here to represent to all fans, all over, the symbol is women's wrestling. And you, Mercedes Vargas, will be defeated by me.
No superpowers, no gadgets or toys...
just the will the win.
[Louie walks the streets, large trench coat over him. His collar is turned up, and he holds the coat close to him as he walks. The tall, skinny figure is unmistakable. Once a former police officer, he was disgraced as he was caught taking bribes by fellow officers. But at this point, he's still a cop. Exactly the one Roxi is looking for.]
Ah, there you are.
[ The noticeable click-clack of her heels draws attention from Louie who peers up at sky, but doesn't pay it too much attention. She finally gets into position where she has her trap set. Roxi's trap works to perfection as Louie is snagged by the ankle and zipped up a 120 feet, upside-down. Roxi smirks as she makes her way over, squatting beside him. She takes a deep breath. ]
Roxi - ¿Dónde están las drogas?
Louie - Wha...what?
Roxi - Oh, I assumed you spoke Spanish.
Louie - N...n....nn...no. I..I..Don't.
Roxi - Let's try that again, shall we?
[ With that, she releases the tension on the cord, and he free-falls. He screams and then, he's stopped, and pulled back up.]
Roxi - ( In a deep, gravely tone) Where were the other dr- *Cough* *Hack* *Cough* *Cough*
How the heck did Christian Bale do that for three hours?
[ Still bewildered at his current situation, Louie says nothing. She clears her throat and starts again. ]
Roxi - Okay, take 3.
[ Again, she drops him. And then pulls him back up. ]
Roxi - Hi. I'm Lady Bedlam. I need to know where a shipment of drugs is going. I think that you know. Welcome to your interrogation.
Louie - I...I don't know anything.
Roxi - Oh, I think you do.
Louie - I'm just an honest cop, I swear.
Roxi - Really? There's $500 in your pocket, it's got trace amounts of drug residue on it. It's not wise to lie to me.
Louie - Why should I tell you anything?
Roxi - Oh, you don't have to. But I mean, There's an open barrel of...what I think is toxic waste down there. And...judging by wind right now, if I let you do, you'll fall head-first into it.
Louie - You're crazy!
Roxi - Now, maybe, just maybe, you'll end up transforming into a hideously deformed creature of super-human size and strength. Then, you can move to Jersey and fight injustice. But, I doubt it. Most likely you'll burn to death. But, I would love to find out if I'm wrong.
Louie - I can't. They'll kill me.
Roxi - Okay, got your plane ticket to Jersey? Here we go!
Louie - Okay! Okay!
[ She drops him anyway. He screams, but it stopped short of the barrel of waste. She pulls him back up.]
Roxi - That's for lying to me at the start. Now talk.
Louie - Alright, you crazy bitch! There's some kind of cult. I don't know much. I've never seen their leader. They say he's got some kind of power of those people. Operate underground,I swear that's all I know.
[ She pulls a switchblade from her belt. And holds it against the cord. ]
Roxi - Are you sure? This rope just might break.
Louie - Yes. yes! I swear please!
I think he's tapped out. I got what I needed.
Roxi - Good boy. Well, I must say, I really enjoyed this date. You sure know how to impress a girl.
[With that, she releases the tension again, and let's him fall, but then stops him short of the ground ,before releasing him. ]
