I want it, I need it. I will have it.
Let me assure you of something Davey, costing me a match last week did you no favors. It only makes me hungrier to take the North American title from around your waist. Stewie Franchize was a small bump in the road and one minor blemish on my record. You know why Davey? Because of you. I can assure you that cannot and will not happen this week. Stewie may have gotten really lucky, and capitalized on a situation benefiting him. Can't say I would or would not do the same if the same opportunity presented itself to me. But I'm not going over analyze the situation last week. It happened, and I'm ready to move on.
Now this week it's Todd Williams. A man who defeated Fergus Callaghan last week, and a man who I can respect. At least he knows the value of sportsmanship Davey. But I'm just going to concentrate on Todd this week.
Now Todd, I can see that you are a man who has all the toold to succeed in CPW, and I know you've succeeded in places that you've been before. But the fact of the matter is, so have I. You may not know my name as well as I do yours, but I have traveled the world over and I am what wrestling should be. You Todd, based on what I've seen in the ring, are what wrestling has become. And while that's not a completely bad thing, it does leave a sour taste in my mouth.
So, the measures have to be taken. I have to defeat you to get myself back on track. I'm not taking you lightly Todd, trust me, like I have all my opponents, I've watched the tape, studied the moves and picked up what I believe I need to win. Plus, in the frame of mind I'm in, I almost feel sorry for you, because I'm going to stretch you.
Todd, I want you to know that I do not hate you, or want to injure you in any way, it's just in this match, a win is what I need, and a win is what I want. Davey Ortega cost me a match last week, and now, he's sitting pretty, waiting for me as if I need to prove how good I am all of a sudden. Because of his fluke victory at Undisputed, he believes that he is better than me. I need to prove him otherwise. And that starts this week, when I defeat you Todd. Nothing personal, it's just business.
It's all about redemption, and Todd, you happen to be the man across the ring from me this week. Any other week, I'd shake your hand and wish you the best of luck out there in that ring, but this week, this week I only see you as an obstacle that must be over come. That's why I'm going to do what I need to do, and defeat you in the middle of the ring. I'm going to make you tap Todd, no if's an's or but's about it. This is my week.
I cannot fail.
( In Kevin's home is suburban Pittsburgh, he beats on the Heavy bag. His wife, Melanie, watches with a concerned look on her face.)
Melanie: Kevin...
( He ignores her.)
Melanie: Kevin...
( Another blow to the heavy bag, he's focused.)
Melanie: Kevin!
( He finally stops, and turns to her.)
Kevin: What is it?!
Melanie: Kevin, I'm worried about you.
Kevin: It's a rough stretch, it'll be alright.
Melanie: No Kevin, this isn't a rough stretch. This is bordering on madness.
Kevin: I have to be the best Mel. There's no two ways about it. I can't just let people walk on me. I can't let people I should beat, just beat me.
Melanie: Kevin, you're taking this way too seriously...
Kevin: THIS IS MY LIFE, MEL! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?
Melanie:...
( He turns back to the heavy bag. But she remains standing in the doorway.)
Kevin: Look....I'm sorry I yelled.
Melanie: I support you Kevin...
Kevin: I know. I'll never forget that.
Melanie: You almost did.
Kevin: I said I was sorry, It's just that...this means a lot to me.
Melanie: I know. But I think you need to at least take a break..
Kevin: Why's that?
Melanie: The heavy bag is falling off the wall.
( He smiles as he looks at the heavy bag, and indeed, it's coming apart. He wraps a towel around his head, and rubs himself down, before walking over to his wife and putting his arm around her. )
Kevin: Thanks.
( He gently kisses her forehead as the scene fades as they leave the garage. )
