What exactly am I supposed to say about Zelda Knite? She practically makes fun of herself. At times, I think she may be really, really, dumb, but at the same time, smart enough to know that. But then there are times, where she is too dumb to even insult. But she knows that too.
It's some kind of weird paradox that makes her so hard to defeat. I know that first hand.
But last time wasn't a total loss. I was able to gain valuable experience from that match. I took my eye off the ball for one second and it cost me the Siren's title. I will not make the same mistake twice Zelda.
This time, it will be different. I may have snuck in the back door, by the way some people think, but even if that's even remotely true, why waste the opportunity. I would assume you are pretty good at doing that kind of thing Zelda. From what I've heard, and seen on the internet. That whole stealing the NCW World Title thing, makes you an opportunist. Well, I guess it's a little bit of role reversal this time isn't it?
But let's face it Zelda, you didn't really want to just face Vargas again, did you? You already beat her, I already beat her, this really is just that you and I are the two best female wrestlers here. We should be settling this with another match. Either I win and we need a rubber match, or you win and prove your superiority. That's what it should be. But, it's not.
It's a match where Mecedes Vargas, after squandering every bit of momentum she had, seeks to be the center of attention still. The woman who had every chance in the world, and sees a problem and a fix where there isn't one, trying to make sure she's heard. It's quite ironic don't you agree?
Ah, who am I kidding, Zelda Knite knowing what Ironic means...that would be ironic.
But, honestly Zelda, I respect you, your talents, your abilities, it's not like you got lucky in our match, you beat me, fair and square, you earned the right to carry that title. Now, by beating both you and Mercedes, I will prove that I also deserve to carry that title. It will be one heck of a fight, and I intend on walking out with the title, if I have to beat both you and Mercedes myself.
Though, I wouldn't be opposed to some help. Just saying..
No, I'm not expecting a free ride to a one on one confrontation with you Zelda. I'm not expecting Mercedes to enlist me for anything. The way I see it, If Vargas can beat you, she will, if I can beat you, I will, and I'm sure vise-versa. It's every woman for themselves.
No, you don't need to abandon ship or anything, but know that while I may be inclined to help you from time to time, I will take my opportunity to defeat you if you leave it open. And if I know you like I think I do, you will leave it open. No quarter asked, none given Zelda.
*Sigh* I really need to stop using cleche's with you, you'll never understand them.
Just...good luck Zelda.
[ It's a few moments after, and Roxi and Keira sit on the roof of the building. Keira has a huge smile on her face, and Roxi just scans the area. ]
Keira - I love the view. Do you do this all the time?
Roxi - Every night.
Keira - Wow. You get to see the whole city like this. I could get used to great views like this. So, what's next?
[Roxi turns to Keira.]
Roxi - What do you mean "what's next?"
Keira - Like, where do we go from here?
Roxi - You are going to go home.
Keira - What? I meant for us.
Roxi - There is no..."us" in this game Keira.
Keira - Why not?
Roxi - Because it's too dangerous.
Keira - I...I thought we were...together?
Roxi - What are you talking about?
Keira - Partners, both in life, and here...
Roxi - Keira, while it was a weight off my shoulders, this isn't the life for you.
Keira - Excuse me?
Roxi - Keira, this is life and death we're talking about here. This isn't a place for you.
Keira - I think I proved I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself.
Roxi - No. You don't get to argue with me on this. You mean too much to me, for me to lose you. Especially doing something like this.
Keira - Whoa..whoa..whoa...What do you expect me to do, just carry on like nothing's wrong? You want me to sit at home and worry about you all the time?
Roxi - You don't need to worry about me, I've been doing this, since before you even met me.
Keira - I can't do that, Roxi. I can't and I won't.
Roxi - I'm sorry Keira, I can't risk your life.
Keira - You can't ask me to sit idle while you do this.
Roxi - I am. I'm sorry, but this is my life, it's what I was put here to do.
Keira - I know what you're trying to do. You're not going to get rid of me.
Roxi - Keira, you cannot keep following me, you can't tag along, this is dangerous, and you are not prepared to handle it.
Keira - Oh? Did I not save your life a few weeks ago? Have I not proven myself to be a capable fighter?
[ Roxi turns and sighs heavily. ]
Roxi - Be that as it may, there is no way, I'm putting you in danger.
Keira - I can help you.
Roxi - It's not up for discussion.
Keira - Oh, it's very up for discussion! You keep this from me, and now, now you want to create even more distance.
[ Roxi turns to Keira and grabs her by the shoulders. ]
Roxi - I NEED separation because of my love for you! I cannot go on, with you by my side, I'll get distracted, I'll lose focus, and then, you get hurt. And I CANNOT have that.
Keira - ...You...you really mean that? You love me?
Roxi - Yes, Keira. I love you. My sworn duty is to protect the people of this city. You are part of that. And you will make my job a thousand times easier, but not being on the front lines...That's what I'm trying to say. I want to be with you, but this life...this is what I do. And the space, will do us a lot of good, in the long run.
Keira - I...I don't know what to say...
Roxi - Just tell me that you won't try to follow me.
Keira - I....
Roxi - Promise me! Please!
Keira - Alright..I promise.
Roxi - Thank you. Now, I'm going to take you home. And we both need to get some rest.
[Later, at Keira's apartment. ]
Keira - I guess this means things are different now...
Roxi - A little. But the fact remains we have each other.
Keira - And CPW.
Roxi - Yes. That too.
Keira - Don't you think you should get some rest too? You have a big match on Sunday..
Roxi - I know. I'll be ready. You get some rest.
Keira - It's going to be hard.
Roxi - Why's that?
Keira - Because I have a superhero for a girlfriend. It's exciting. And nerve-wrecking.
Roxi - I'm all hero'ed out for the night. I'm headed home.
Keira - You promise?
Roxi - I promise.
[ Roxi turns to exit out the window, when he wrist communicator goes off. ]
Keira - What's that?
Roxi - ...Duty calls.
Keira - But you promised!
Roxi - I also promised I'd keep this city safe. That's what I do.
[ Keira walks over to Roxi with a frown on her face. ]
Roxi - Keira....I ...
Keira - Just...be careful out there. Okay?.
Roxi - You got it.
My opponents are set. The battle lines have been drawn. One person seems to be down on their luck, the other,...also down on their luck, and then there' s me. I've been proving over the past month that I am pretty darned good. I pinned the number one contender, and got entered into this match.
Is that my fault? No. Although some would have you believe it that way. Mercedes Vargas is upset that I was entered into this match, and really, that's her problem. She can whine about it all she wants, but honestly, I don't care any more. And neither does anyone else. No one like a whiner. That's the person you just want to punch in the face for making a mountain out of a molehill. Which is exactly what some people are doing. Rather than just sucking it up and moving on with life.
You want to prove your the best Vargas? Come with something a little stronger than a few passing comments. You want to be the champion, stop talking about it and do it. You had this all to yourself and you let me in. That's your fault. You wanted the singles match against Zelda, you shouldn't have phoned it in against me. Because I'm not some easy win. And apparently, neither is Heather Stripes. Why she wasn't added to the match, I don't know. Heck, she probably could have replaced you, since you failed to live up the expectations of a true number one contender. That's what happened. No fix, no one stacking the deck. Just you, going out there and laying an egg in the ring.
Zelda on the other hand is well, not really doing much of anything. Maybe she doesn't understand there's a Siren's title match going on. Oh well, the early bird ...never mind.
To the both of you, I indeed wish you luck. I hope all three of us go out there and tear the house down. I hope we have a match of the year candidate. I really do.
It's just going to be a little sweeter when I walk out with the title. I'm coming into this match to win. I don't need to tell you that a lot is riding on this match, and that it means a lot to me. I don't need a lot of words to let you know how I feel.
I'd rather let me actions do the talking in the ring.
Hello, Canada, Hello CPW Siren's title.
