I am at a loss for words. I really am. I was unaware that Zelda and I were friends. I was unaware that Mercedes Vargas was the name of a comic supervillain, and unaware Crystal Hilton is widely hated by virtually everyone. What is going on here?
I am totally out of the loop with the world at large. I am so confused right now, it's like I'm watching an old wrestling pay-per-view from 1999. I can't follow anything going on, and nothing seems to make sense.
Okay, recap, I beat Cynthia Warren, Crystal interferes. Zelda beats Mercedes, now we're teaming together? I think I got all that. And it makes no sense. But then again, I'm pretty confident that Mr. Reagan is a madman. And, at the same time, I think in his mind, this makes perfect sense.
I'm facing Zelda at Undisputed for the Siren's title. This week I'm teaming with her to face Mercedes and Crystal. I guess this is my week to study who Zelda moves in the ring, how she operates, what she likes and doesn't like.
Though it would appear she doesn't like anybody. As she continuously calls herself "the best ever." That's not very fan friendly, nor is it a great way to endear yourself to your partners. Though, the bathrobe is certainly a great way to make up for that.
I don't know why you're making me a robe. I'm almost positive that this whole tag team thing, is a one week deal. Maybe in the future, we can go forward with the whole '80's tag team, since you put so much effort into it. Maybe some other time.
So, Crystal, I have no idea why you keep interfering in Cynthia's business. Attacking her after her matches for no real reason. But, I guess that's besides the point. You've been hired. So I guess your master plan worked. You are gamefully employed. But now, you get me and Zelda in a tag match. I have no idea how this is going to go. But I do know that sneak attacking me or attempting to do those underhanded tactics will not work this week. It will not save you this week. Now you face the full wrath of a hero, and her gamer partner.
But people like you are the worst kind of people, attempting to leech off the success of others who have actually worked at it. That's the kind of scum I cannot and will not tolerate. Yes, Crystal, you have made me make it my personal mission to rid CPW of people who are so underhanded and greedy that they do not deserve to be where they are. You've made the list Crystal, I hope you are aware of that.
So, Mercedes Vargas. That was quite a lot. So much hatred for Crystal and out and out jealousy for losing to Zelda Knite last week. I thought it was a great effort, and you had nothing to be ashamed of. But apparently, losing to Zelda has motivated you. That's great. I think you will be a great opponent in the future.
We're clearly going to have to test out that theory some day, and we'll get a little taste of it on Wednesday won't we? You are a woman of fine tastes it looks like, so you know about challenges and rising to meet them, because of who you are, and what you're about. a Woman of pride, a woman of power. If you want power, you're going to have to win the Siren's title. But sadly for you, that will have to wait for at least another month.
But you can clearly make a statement on Wednesday. We'll see who speaks the loudest in the end, won't we?
[ Roxi sits at her computer at her apartment, staring at the screen. Vision pops on the screen. ]
Vision - Hey, what's going on?
Roxi - Not much.
Vision - This is kind of weird.
Roxi - What?
Vision - You're here, with me, instead of being with Keira.
Roxi - She's...wait...are you jealous?
Vision - No...
Roxi - I think you are.
Vision - I am not. I just said it was weird, that's all.
Roxi - I don't know Vision.
Vision - Still, what's the occasion.
Roxi - I don't know. I'm trying to find something new to do. Anything going on out there?
Vision - Not really. Small things that the Guild is handling. There's really not much, you've done a good job.
Roxi - Thanks, I guess. But it's just not fun anymore, you know?
Vision - I would think after all this time, you'd be happy to be able to settle down and just...live your life.
Roxi - Yeah. I thought so too. Keira's great and all. But this balancing act is getting out of hand. I can't keep lying to her forever.
Vision - So...what are you going to do?
Roxi - I don't know. But she'll have to come over here at some point. I can't keep putting that off.
Vision - Why is that such a big deal?
Roxi - I can't have her discovering the costume, the secret passages, the whole thing would be disastrous.
Vision -...Have you ever considered she'd be okay with it?
Roxi - ...
Vision - Seriously. From what you told me, Keria seems like a really great girl. Why wouldn't she understand?
Roxi - I don't want her to worry. "See ya later, I'm off to fight near-impossible odds on a sucide mission, save me some meatloaf!" That's not going to work.
Vision - Maybe you...
Roxi - What?
[ Vision looks away from the screen and at a map. ]
Vision - There's been a break-in at the 2nd National Bank.
Roxi - Well hot damn! It's about time.
Vision - Good luck.
Roxi - Right.
[ Roxi goes to change into her costume. ]
[ Roxi sits on the rooftop of a building overlooking the bank ]
Roxi - Wow, this is weird. What kind of nut breaks into the most heavily guarded bank in the city?
[ Roxi peers down and sees a woman in all black standing on the roof of the bank.
Roxi - Oh, that kind of nut.
[ Roxi jumps down and swings with her grappling hook, to the roof of the bank. ]
Woman - Great. You're here.
Roxi - Uh, hi. I don't know if you know this or not, but not all the money in the bank is yours.
Woman - Who said anything about money? I didn't rob the bank.
Roxi - Then...what exactly are you doing here?
Woman - I just wanted your attention. Now, I've got it.
Roxi - I aim to please.
Woman - Good.
Roxi - So...what now?
Woman - Let's see what you've got.
Roxi - Uh...alright.
[ Roxi stands up fully and assumes a fighting stance. The woman stands firm.
Woman - Whenever you're ready.
[ Roxi leaps, but the woman simply leans back and flips her onto her back. ]
Roxi - Ow... Well, that was embarassing.
Woman - Did I hurt you? I'm sorry.
[ Roxi stands, and rubs her back, and re-assumes a fighting stance. This time, she approaches a little more cautious...She throws a kick, but the woman simply catches it, and then slams her onto the ground. ]
What in the world is going on. She's good. Really good.
Woman - Are you okay? I'm trying to play nice.
Roxi - *groan* Peachy.
Woman - Ready to keep going?
Has she been toying with me the whole time? Nah, I'm just rusty.
Roxi - Listen...whoever you are, You are lucky I've been off for a while. Now, I'm back in the groove.
[ Roxi stands, and assumes a fighting stance again, the two lock up, and the woman overpowers Roxi and tosses her into the air. Roxi tries to land gracefully, but re-tweaks her knee from last week. The woman notices this and she arches her eyebrow.
Woman - Uh-oh...are you okay. Here, let me help
[ The woman dives on top of Roxi, pinning her arms to the ground in the mount position. ]
I...I can't get her off me...!
Woman - Look at you, trying so hard. You need to really get back in the swing of things if you want to catch me. But I don't want to hurt you, No...I want to know who's under that mask. And then maybe...neither of us will need them. But then again, I think I know already.
Roxi - Well, good for you. Because I am going to find out who you are first.
Woman - Silly girl. sadly, I've got to run. I wish we had more time to spend together. Maybe next time. Ta-ta.
[ A little pressure on the knee joint is all the woman needs to get away without chase. But as she stands, Roxi manages to scratch her arm, drawing some blood. But the pain causes Roxi to wince. Soon, Roxi stands up and the woman is gone. ]
Roxi - Why are all good-looking ones, homicidal maniacs?
[ Roxi is visibly limping as she arrives at Keira's apartment, knocking on the door. Keira, fresh out the shower, answers the door. ]
Keira - Hey there gorgeous. How...hey, what happened to you?
Roxi - It's my knee, still bothering me.
Keira- Oh, come in then, I'll get some ice.
Roxi - Thanks.
[ Roxi enters Keira's apartment, and sits down. Keira hands her an ice pack, and goes to change. ]
Keira- What have you been up to?
Roxi - Oh, nothing.
Keira- I hope you're better, I was hoping we could get some dinner later.
Roxi - Yeah, I guess that would be okay.
Keira- And I want you to know, I am really jealous that Zelda is your partner this week.
Roxi - It's not that big of a deal.
Keira- Just so long as you know I'm the only partner you need.
Roxi - *Sigh* Thanks Keira. You saved my bacon last week.
Keira- I know.
[Keira finally goes out, rubbing her arm, which is now sporting a bandage and sitting down next to Roxi.]
Roxi - You okay? What happened?
Keira- Oh, I...cut myself a little eariler, loose nail drug right across my arm. Crazy things.
Roxi - Right.
[ Roxi begins to put two and two together, but it's not quite there. ]
Roxi - So, what did you do today?
Keira- Oh, I...stayed in. I heard on the news about the bank being robbed.
Roxi - Right.
Keira- Can't be too careful with all those crazing supervillains running around.
Roxi - Tell me about it.
Keira- What?
Roxi - Oh, forget it.
[ Keira wraps her arms around Roxi in a hug. Roxi can't stop staring at the bandage on her arm.
Something's not right here. Could she be...?
